1. If the spill is fresh, try to blot up as much of the liquid as possible with a clean cloth. Do not rub!
2. Pour water on the stain. Continue to blot up until you cannot remove any more of the stain. Do not rub!
3. Use a thick baking soda paste (about 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water) on the red wine stain. Allow it to dry, and then vacuum.
